Hello! I'm Anya, a decorative painter and muralist based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Murals

Interior or exterior, walls, ceilings and beyond--any surface type, you dream it, I can do it. My custom murals are tailored to accentuate their specific surroundings, taking into account architecture, lighting and color.
Faux Finishing

From the age-old tradition of trompe l'oeil and faux finishing, I offer hand-painted marble, wood, and stone effects. These luxurious treatments can transform a plain wall into an agate showstopper, a hollow-core door into an antique, wooden farmhouse style piece, or even camouflage light-switch plates to a gorgeous marble backsplash.
Sign painting

Sign painting brings a big impact to a brand presence. Adaptable to any surface, hand-lettering is bold, exciting, and eye-catching.
Stencils

Stenciling can be used to create custom wallpaper effects, intricate wayfinding, and bold graphics. I create hand-cut designs, or work with laser cut large-format removable vinyl stencils.
Ombré and Glazing

Beautiful, soft layers can ground a room while simultaneously making it feel like it's up in the clouds. This treatment speaks for itself.
Event Décor

I offer hand-painted, custom backdrops and dance floors for weddings and any other special celebrations. Each item is tailored specifically to your event, and is endlessly customizable.
Floors

Paint can work wonders on a concrete, wood or stone floor. I've painted wayfinding through the hallways of corporate HQs, graphic patterns on elevator lobbies, layered stencil effects in concrete restaurant dining rooms, and subtle detailing in residential foyers. The possibilities are endless.
Metal leaf

I am trained in traditional gilding techniques, and have extensive experience adding glowing metal leaf to molding, glass, antiqued mirror, domed ceilings, accent walls, and more.
Venetian Plaster

Plaster effects are the epitome of timeless beauty. The luminosity and depth achieved by a velvety limestone plaster finish is serene and subtle.
Furniture

Hand-painted furniture means you'll have a one-of-a-kind piece in your collection. Not only have I created custom chairs like the ones above, I've transformed a leather couch from white to blue, painted winding greek-key patterns around a kitchen-full of sleek, modern cabinets, and added abstract color blocks to the doors of an upscale dining room sideboard.
Creative Problem-Solving

When a client asked if I could paint a variety of molding to bridge panels of graphic vinyl in a restaurant, I developed a technique that could replicate the vinyl image's texture (a stippled look that came from the canvas weave of the original painting). Paired with meticulous color matching, the end result was a seamless image. If you have an design puzzle or aesthetic question, I'm happy to offer my years of experience finding efficient, technique-based answers to visual challenges.
